Choose Before It’s too Late.
Story by Randy Grathen.
I’ve often wondered when and what will be the cause of my death. None of us are getting out of here alive, and the older I get the more I thought about what comes after. We are told that we have a soul – our life force, and our spirit which lives on after we die. Here is what the experts say… the “soul” is often seen as the essence of a person, encompassing their mind, emotions, and personality, while the “spirit” is considered the part that connects with the divine or a higher power, allowing for a deeper spiritual connection. (They couldn’t bring themselves to use the word God.)
So, I would not be a true friend if, after all these years, I didn’t share what I now know to be true. I know we’ve had these discussions in our hot tub back in California and at other times, but then it was merely a philosophical discussion. None of us gave any serious thought about dying anytime soon back then. But… I have seen, read, and heard too many stories about an afterlife and experienced too many big and small miracles in my own life to believe life has no meaning, and then we die. There is a God who created each and every one of us and wants us to share the beauty of our life after death, with Him in Heaven.
Your cancer is not necessarily a death sentence at this time. Miracles do happen all the time and you could be one of them. But here’s the thing. We are all going to die someday. I could get hit by a car tomorrow or have a heart attack before the day is out. I recently had two stints put in my Widow-Maker. I had a 98% blockage. So here is the one question we will all have to answer before we die. “Where do I go when I leave here?” The bible is very clear on that point. It’s heaven, or hell, and we get to choose.
John 3:16, is the most quoted verse in the bible. Why? Because it is the starting point to answering that question. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
If you’re still reading this, here is my promise to you. I will pray that God reveals Himself to you in a way that becomes undeniable. I pray that you will experience too many “coincidences” to be explained away by chance or Karma.
And finally, a very wise woman, Tia, said this: “Wait. What? God doesn’t always heal? I disagree! Prayers for healing are the safest prayers we can pray because God always says ‘yes’. Now…let’s define ‘yes’. If he heals you here, your healing is temporary. It’s still good and amazing, but it will not last forever. You will get sick again or have some kind of accident. You will die. I’ve never met a 2-thousand-year-old Christian! But if he releases you from your mortal body, and heals you in that way, then, you are healed forever! No more sickness, no more pain, no more tears. The problem isn’t that sometimes God heals and sometimes he doesn’t, the problem is, we’ve begun to cherish ‘temporary healing’ over ‘eternal healing’ so much so, we now dismiss eternal healing as any type of healing at all.”
